- Be working in your own capacity with a single haulage vehicle, without any dedicated office back-up during working hours.
- Undertake only a very limited amount of sub-contracting.
- Work from a home-office, without separate business premises.
- Not post Return Journeys or Backloads for vehicles either driven by, or belonging to others.
- Undertake any haulage jobs received from another member with your own vehicle, and not sub-contract elsewhere.

Do you want more flexibility?
Haulage Exchange allows you to choose when you work, and who you work for. Some jobs will be one-offs, while others may turn into longer-term freight contracts. The important thing is that you aren't beholden to any one company – if you're on a job for someone else, then you don't need to feel that you are possibly turning away future work by refusing a haulage job. Some of our Haulage Exchange subscribers really do take the day off to play golf without feeling guilty!
Are you often running empty?
If you are finding it difficult to obtain backloads, whether in the UK or on the continent, our system will allow you to advertise your empty run (we call these 'Return Journeys'). We have an extremely sophisticated matching system which will automatically link your Return Journey to any new haulage loads.
Do you find it difficult to advertise your services?
Your directory entry on the Haulage Exchange is a permanent advert for your services, with 1000's of search requests each month being carried out. We accredit all new subscribers, and these details are also displayed on your Accreditation page.
Do you want to grow your business?
Would you like to take on some additional work, but don't want the associated risk? Haulage Exchange is a massive 'virtual network' at your disposal which allows you to sub-contract out your haulage loads (we call these 'Goods to Move'). Many of our owner-operators have grown into flourishing businesses through the exchange.
Do you sometimes turn away work because you're busy?
If you do, then you can sub-contract the job on the haulage exchange. You will receive responses from other haulage drivers, often in less than a minute from the time you placed your request.
Would you like to receive all your job despatch information straight to your phone?
We have a unique two-way order system, called Tramp. As long as you've got a suitable phone or connected PDA you can receive haulage job information on the road and update the status in real time via the GPRS network via our CX Mobile facilty.
