Bristol vehicle test station moves location

Date: 31 March 2008

Haulage companies in the south-west should be aware that the Bristol Goods Vehicle Test Station at Ashton Gate has closed and moved to a new site.

The centre closed its doors on March 19th, and will move to new premises at Merebank Road, Avonmouth, Bristol, BS11 8AQ. It will open for testing on April 7th.

Test station manager Martin Mortimer said that the new site would feature all modern facilities.

In the meantime, haulage companies needing to arrange vehicle testing can book by calling the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) direct.

VOSA operates a number of licensing, testing and enforcement services for haulage vehicles in the UK, "with the aim of improving the roadworthiness standards of vehicles ensuring the compliance of operators and drivers with road traffic legislation, and supporting the independent Traffic Commissioners".
