Madonna criticises London road works
Date: 28 March 2008
Pop star Madonna has criticised the number of road works in London - a view that may be shared by many couriers and owner drivers.
Officials argue that road works in the capital are long overdue, such as the outdated water mains system needing updating.
But Madge has voiced the opinion of many couriers and other motorists by saying the traffic is getting worse.
Speaking to Q magazine, she said: "Will Ken Livingstone get my vote? No. The traffic in London is worse than ever now. All Red Ken wants is road works going on everywhere.
"Don't use the Tube; can't use the roads? No. I'll just have to walk I guess."
She also said that she would like to see aspiring musicians exempt from the congestion charge and other taxes, so that they had more money to do other things.
