American prayers may benefit UK haulage drivers

Date: 17 March 2008

If haulage drivers feel unusually calm and tranquil on March 27th, it may be because a prayer has been said for them in America.

Thursday, March 27th is the ninth annual National Day of Prayer for Truckers in the US, and will be conducted in association with the Mid-America Trucking Show taking place in Louisville, Kentucky.

Prayer will be led by chaplain Joe Hunter, who is the president of TruckStop Ministries, and if haulage drivers in the UK feel a sudden warm glow it could be because of this intense feeling of goodwill from fellow truckers on the other side of the Atlantic.

Special music will be provided at the event by musicians Jerry and Sharon Benson - Sharon has won numerous gospel music prizes.

The keynote speech will be given by Gary Nassabaum of Transport for Christ International, which provides religious services to truckers in the States.
