Couriers 'could face more speeding fines'
Date: 06 February 2008
In a bid to cut rush-hour tailbacks, which could delay those on a courier job, experts believe reducing speed limits will stop sharp braking which can lead to delays at peak times.
Speed limits will be varied throughout the day, according to the volume of traffic, such as the ones used on the M25 west of London and some sections of the M42.
Couriers should be aware of the cameras from February 15th, as the Daily Mail reports that speed cameras will become digital in areas around the M25, meaning more photos can be taken of speeding drivers.
However, owner drivers and other couriers who find themselves frustrated by speeding fines can release their tension - by crushing a speed camera with a 17-tonne tank.
The service is on offer in Somerset, where paintball company owner Bill Bailey allows motorists to crush a mock-up speed camera with an Abbott 433 tank, meaning those in the courier service can relive their frustration while having fun.
