Haulage firm turned down twice for O-licence

Date: 28 January 2008

A haulage company in Walsall, DC Haulage and Storage, has lost its second bid for an O-licence, Commercial Motor reports.

The road haulage company, which transports freight loads, first applied for a six-vehicle/two-trailer licence, but this was refused because illegal operation and fraudulent bank statements.

When the logistics company again applied for the operator licence, it emerged that one of the company's vehicles had been impounded just five days after the previous public inquiry.

The Transport Commissioner (TC) found that there was strong evidence that the road haulage company was operating unlawfully, and had no hesitation in finding that the company should not receive an O-licence.
