Logistics companies and other haulage businesses will get the change to debate the future of the sector at an upcoming conference.
The industry's Freight Transport Association (FTA) revealed that its second Urban Logistics Conference will take place on March 11th on Great George Street in London.
At the event, freight haulage and logistics businesses, as well as local authorities will explore at the current issues, best practice and policy development affecting urban freight logistics.
This will include discussion of congestion charging, air quality, freight quality partnerships, consolidation centres and the future of the UK's logistics sector.
A statement from the FTA explained: "Businesses and local authorities share a joint goal in the efficient management of goods deliveries in crowded towns and city centres.
"Local authority planners and officers, transport managers and vehicle operators need to understand each others requirements and priorities to create workable solutions which seamlessly service the demands of local businesses and residents."
The FTA represents the transport interests of companies moving goods by road, rail, sea and air. Members operate over 200,000 freight haulage vehicles - almost half the UK's logistics fleet.
