Freight haulage vehicle carrying squash rolls over in New Zealand

Date: 08 January 2008

An accident in New Zealand resulted in a freight haulage vehicle carrying a load of squash rolling over.

The logistics vehicle crash happened on the country's State Highway 3, on Mokau Road near the Mount Messenger Tunnel, the New Zealand Herald reports.

Now the road, in the Taranaki region of New Zealand's North Island, is partly closed. It is limited to a single lane.

Inspector Ken Climo said that the clean-up would take several hours. No other freight haulage vehicles (or any other vehicles) were involved.

However, the logistics driver was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital with injuries to his neck. It is believed that the roads were wet at the time when the freight haulage vehicle carrying a squash load rolled over.
