Renault Trucks revamps Magnum

Date: 04 January 2008

A new version of the Renault Magnum truck cab will be launched at the CV Show in April this year.

The new model has a sleeker and more powerful design, with greater comfort and more room inside the cab.

Renault Trucks' Magnum is the company's flagship model and is available in both semi and rigid configurations. When it offered the first totally flat cab floor in 1991 it was breaking new ground, and it is doing the same again with its new interior.

Surveys were carried out to find out what freight haulage truck drivers wanted and needed, and Renault Trucks then incorporated them.

The new Magnum therefore has a roof that is 20cm higher and headroom of more than two metres. As well as this, there is far more interior storage space - the front overhead unit is three times as big as it was previously.

Inside there is improved modular lighting that can fit in with the different phases of the day, a thicker sprung mattress, and better audio equipment such as a USB connection (depending on the version).

Its international launch will be at the CV Show in Birmingham in April.
