Walsall courier drivers endure traffic nightmare

Date: 12 December 2007

Courier drivers in Walsall are said to be refusing to make some deliveries because of the horrendous traffic problems.

Couriers employed on courier jobs and carrying loads are frustrated by the lack of parking spaces in the town centre, as well as the severe congestion, the Walsall Express and Star reports.

One courier driver refused to return to an address in Birchills because it took him three hours to get through roads around the town.

Meanwhile, Simon Griffith of Pazo explained: "We had a courier from Coventry who refused point blank to come to us because it took him three hours to get in and out of Walsall on a previous visit.

"We tell visitors to ring us 30 minutes before they're due to arrive so we can secure a parking space for them."

The traffic in Walsall and other congested parts of the country is irritating to courier drivers with loads, including hotshot loads.
