TfL to promote FORS freight scheme at CV Show
Date: 13 November 2007
Transport for London (TfL) will be exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show next year for the first time, and promoting its Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
The FORS system is designed to encourage road freight operators to adopt best practice in London, and is part of the wider London Freight Plan. It will support initiatives that are laid out in the plan, such as a database for London freight operators and consolidation trials.
It will help road freight operators share their concerns about the distribution of freight in the capital; get involved in projects to improve freight movement; have a point of contact for freight initiatives; and consider the impact they have on the environment, economy and society.
"The Commercial Vehicle Show will be a great opportunity for TfL to raise the profile of the Freight Operator Recognition Scheme, said FORS manager Glen Davies.
"In partnership with the Metropolitan Police's Commercial Vehicle Education Unit, the FORS team will be available on the stand to answer questions and discuss the benefits of the scheme."
