A Czech haulage driver was forced to spend three nights in his haulage truck after he got stuck in a narrow country lane.
Yuri Odenhai was driving the freight haulage vehicle to a depot in Devon where he was due to pick up a television load, the Times reports.
His satellite navigation system sent him down a very small lane and his logistics vehicle became stuck on a bend near Ivybridge.
The haulage company that Yuri works for, Kohlman and Hasek, refused to pay for what would have been an expensive recovery operation on a weekend, so he was forced to sleep in the cab of his logistics truck for three nights.
Fortunately, a local family took pity on him and invited the haulage driver in for meals for the three-day period.
Marina Auburn is Croatian and was able to communicate with him. Her son, Mat, said that he had asked for directions but the woman he approached could not understand him. After that, he was at the mercy of the suspect sat nav system.
