Truck drivers in Worcester want to be careful, because there have been four separate thefts on that town's Wainwright Road inside two months.
The latest attack saw thieves break into a truck at the Plumb Centre, steal a parked trailer and take away £100,000 worth of perfume, Commercial Motor reports.
At least three other thefts have also taken place on the road, although suggestions that the area was witnessing a crime spree of manic proportions were denied by local police.
Commercial Motor readers had suggested that there had been as many as 20 thefts there over two months, but a police spokesman said: "Our records only show the four offences, so 20 seems a wild exaggeration."
The Freight Transport Association has warned freight companies to be prepared for possible criminal attacks in the run-up to Christmas.
Firms must be on their guard as additional drivers, hired vehicles and new routes all present opportunities for unscrupulous thieves.
