Hijackers stole a truck filled with wine last week, leaving the unfortunate driver at the edge of the road in his underpants.
The Romanian freight haulage driver was sleeping in his truck at Hams Hill, on the M6, on September 14th when the gang told him something was wrong with his lorry. When he got out to check, they jumped into the cab and drove off, RoadTransport.com reports.
Police later found the truck abandoned, with its load still in place.
The authorities believe that the gang may be the same group that was behind other similar recent attacks. Another attack on a Polish driver happened in August, and in both cases a silver Subaru was seen in the area.
According to national intelligence unit TruckPol, road freight crime costs the UK economy up to £250 million each year.
"The theft of large goods vehicles and their loads causes significant economic and logistical harm to manufacturers, operators and retailers alike," a spokesman said.
