A parade of vintage vans and lorries of all shapes and sizes took to the road over the weekend to showcase decades of enduring engineering.

Taking part in a drive between Bournemouth and Bath, 100 vehicles wound their way in and out of numerous towns on the route.

Organiser John Pomeroy from the Commercial Transport in Preservation group spoke to the Wiltshire Times about the grand trucks and vans, including his own Albion CL122 3 Tonnes.

"These sorts of events bring back many happy memories for people," he said, adding that the vehicles even give modern lorries a run for their money.

"They are probably more reliable," he told the paper. "You just have to drive it to it's own ability. There's no point in racing it."

After going the impressive distance from Bournemouth, the lorries finished their journey in Bath - which is also the starting point for October's Norwich Union MSA Classic rally.
