Accreditation & Star Ratings

See who you're dealing with and post feedback on your road haulage partners.

Each subscriber is required to supply Haulage Exchange with the following documentation before going live  on the system:

  • Vehicle insurance (appropriate for haulage work).

  • Goods in Transit insurance.

  • Operators Licence (if applicable).

  • ADR certificate (if applicable).

  • Each freight exchange subscriber has their own accreditation page, which will list this documentation as being in effect.

We have a panel of specialist insurance brokers who will advise you of  the correct cover for the transport industry. View our haulage insurance brokers.

Each subscriber is required to supply Courier Exchange with the accreditation documents before going lives on the courier directory.

Why do we have an Accreditation scheme?

Haulage Exchange is  an active, vibrant freight exchange and trading hub, which for many  of our subscribers represents the mainstay of their daily trading activities.

We endeavour to  maintain a high standard of professionalism amongst Haulage Exchange subscribers, and set a standard  benchmark for the transport industry.

The Haulage Exchange Accreditation  ensures that our subscribers know who they are dealing with, as well as giving  them the opportunity to give feedback on their experiences.

Improve your reputation among the haulage industry and become an accredited HX-member.

Star Ratings - how they work

Once a new freight exchange subscriber has gone live on the  system, they have the opportunity to earn stars through recommendation from their fellow road hauliers, who they have worked with in some capacity.

The current rating system works by filling in a short online questionnaire, which  has a points system behind the scenes. Each rating submitted can only affect a  rating by 0.5 stars (up or down).

You can only rate the same road haulier once every three months.
Rating submissions are validated by Haulage Exchange to weed out 'tit for; tat' submissions, and any serious comments posted alongside a rating will be followed up with both parties (these are not made public).

If a subscriber feels they have been unfairly rated by another transport industry member, they may take this up with Haulage Exchange in confidence for  further investigation.
